Planning

Welcome to the Planning Department
.

The Planning Commission is responsible for  making recommendations on zoning matters,  special land uses, site plans, etc.  This department works closely with the Township Planner, Township Board and Zoning Board of Appeals. The Planning Commission operates as per the provisions of Public Act 33 2008. being the Michigan Planning Enabling Act.  The Commission is also responsible for Zoning Ordinance changes and updates.  All Site Plan Reviews (SPR) must follow the Township Ordinances.  These Zoning Ordinances are the way the Township implements the land use objectives of the Master Plan,   The Zoning Ordinance can be found on line at www.municode.com

Various forms used by the  Planning Commission can be found in Zoning Forms.
